The next meeting is set for Wednesday, January 30th and it will be held at the Chicago Lighthouse located at . The facility has free parking adjacent to the building and we can bring in food and beverages. One stipulation is that we cannot bring in any alcohol due to insurance reasons. This is the only change to our normal meeting experience.
At the meeting we will be asking members to sign up to work in the UASC booth at both Our World Underwater and the Chicago Maritime Festival. Our World Underwater will run from Friday, February 15th through Sunday, February 17th and the Maritime Festival is the following Saturday, February 23rd. Please check your calendars and come prepared to sign up to work the booth for a couple of hours.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Anna Roosevelt, one of America's leading archaeologists, professor of anthropology at UIC, and former curator of the Field Museum. Dr Roosevelt will speak on her work doing underwater mapping of paleoindian sites. Dr. Roosevelt is an international superstar in the field of Archaeology.
