Hello,

Come join the UASC (Underwater Archaeological Society of Chicago) for our next meeting, this Wednesday, July 31st, at the Chicago Maritime Museum, 1200 W 35th St, Chicago, IL. This is in the Bridgeport Art Center Building.  Enter at the door under the awning that says North Entrance off the north parking lot and go downstairs.  We will start the meeting at 7:00pm.

Our guest speaker, Steven Draska, will present "The Wreck of the Steamer Calumet". On November 28th, 1889, in the same storm that sank the David Dows, the Steamer Calumet was driven down near the shore of Highland Park. Come out and hear the fascinating story of this shipwreck and how all 18 of the crew members were rescued.

Steven Draska is an avid researcher of maritime history and has dove on shipwrecks all over the world. He is from Chicago and we are honored to have him as this months speaker!

See you there,

Colin Bertling
UASC President
